The Food Quality Testing Laboratory at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University’s Centre for Post-Harvest Technology has renewed its NABL accreditation until 2029 under ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standards. The recognition highlights the laboratory’s capability in delivering reliable testing and calibration services for food and agricultural products.



The laboratory conducts chemical and biological testing for a wide range of products, including cereals, pulses, millets, edible oils, bakery items, spices, honey, instant mixes, and ready-to-eat foods. Established in 2006 with support from the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, the facility is also recognized by APEDA among India’s approved general laboratories.



Officials stated that the laboratory supports food industries, researchers, entrepreneurs, and regulatory agencies by ensuring accurate quality and safety assessments. Equipped with advanced analytical instruments and validated AOAC and BIS testing methods, the facility provides dependable results for research, regulatory compliance, and food quality evaluation.
