Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Israel highlighted a unique cultural connection through food, with a specially prepared menu combining Gujarati and Israeli culinary traditions. The carefully curated meal reflected the growing friendship between the two countries while showcasing the richness of traditional regional cuisines.

The menu featured several Gujarati dishes made using ingredients such as pearl millet flour, dry fruits, and traditional spices, alongside popular Israeli foods including hummus, falafel, tahina, and fresh Mediterranean salads. The combination created a blend of Indian and Middle Eastern flavours that celebrated both cultures.

The inclusion of millet-based dishes also drew attention to India’s traditional grains and their growing international appeal as nutritious and sustainable foods. Culinary experts noted that such food diplomacy helps strengthen cultural ties while promoting India’s diverse food heritage on global platforms.
