The Andhra Pradesh government is planning to establish around 1,000 mini marts across the state with support from the National Cooperative Consumers’ Federation of India (NCCF). The initiative is aimed at making essential household goods and daily-use products available to consumers at reasonable and affordable prices.
These mini marts are expected to improve access to quality products in both rural and urban areas while strengthening the retail distribution system. The programme has been introduced to help reduce the impact of rising prices on common households and ensure a stable supply of essential commodities.
Officials stated that the project will be implemented in phases, beginning with the launch of 1,000 outlets across different regions of the state. In addition to improving consumer access to affordable goods, the initiative is also expected to generate employment opportunities and support cooperative-based retail networks.
The move reflects the state government’s efforts to improve consumer welfare, enhance supply chain management, and provide better retail services to the public through organized and accessible distribution systems.
