Training Initiative in Hyderabad Promotes Value Addition in Millets and Vegetables

A training programme focusing on vegetable and millet processing is scheduled to be held in Hyderabad on April 26 at the Telangana Horticulture Training Institute (THTI), Red Hills. The initiative has been organised to encourage value addition in agriculture while promoting healthier and more sustainable food processing practices.

The programme will provide practical knowledge on processing techniques, preservation methods, packaging, and marketing of millet- and vegetable-based products. Farmers, self-help groups, and aspiring entrepreneurs will gain insights into transforming raw agricultural produce into nutritious, market-ready food items with improved shelf life and commercial value.

Experts believe such training initiatives can help reduce post-harvest losses, create additional income opportunities, and strengthen awareness about healthy food consumption. With growing demand for millet-based products and functional foods, the programme is expected to support small-scale food enterprises and encourage innovation in the agri-processing sector.
