CSIR–Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), Mysuru, celebrated National Technology Day 2026 by highlighting innovation and technological advancements in food research and processing. The event focused on the growing role of science and technology in improving food quality, nutrition, safety, and sustainable food production systems.



During the programme, researchers and industry experts discussed the use of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, biotechnology, smart food processing, and data-driven research in transforming the modern food industry. The institute also showcased its research activities related to millet-based products, functional foods, nutraceuticals, ready-to-eat items, protein-rich formulations, and sustainable packaging solutions.



Speakers emphasized the importance of innovation in addressing changing consumer preferences and strengthening the connection between scientific research and industrial applications. Discussions also covered recent developments in food processing techniques, flavour enhancement technologies, and quality testing systems that are helping improve efficiency and product standards in the food sector.

CFTRI officials stated that the institute continues to support the food industry through research collaborations, technology transfer, consultancy services, and startup-oriented innovation programmes. The institute has been actively working toward promoting sustainable nutrition, scientific food processing, and commercially viable food technologies.
