Poshan Pakhwada 2026 witnessed a series of awareness programmes focused on improving maternal and child nutrition through community participation and health education initiatives. Healthcare workers and nutrition experts organized interactive sessions to educate families about the importance of balanced diets, maternal care, child health, hygiene, and healthy lifestyle habits. Traditional community activities were also conducted to support and encourage pregnant women during motherhood.
As part of the campaign, rallies, awareness drives, home visits, and educational programmes were carried out across communities to spread knowledge about nutrition and child development. Special attention was given to promoting breastfeeding, complementary feeding practices, food fortification, and nutritious eating habits among mothers and children. Traditional grains like millets were highlighted for their nutritional value and role in supporting healthier diets and improved food diversity.
The initiative also encouraged active involvement from Anganwadi workers, healthcare staff, parents, local leaders, and social organizations to strengthen community awareness on health and nutrition. Activities promoting kitchen gardening, physical activity, early childhood learning, and reduced screen time among children were also included. Through collective community efforts, Poshan Pakhwada 2026 aimed to create greater awareness about nutrition, wellness, and holistic child development.
