Kerala Firm Wins Social Venture Award from IIMR

 

  • Award: Fresh Start Wellness Cafe and Y2K Tots Foundation won the "Social Venture of the Year" award from the Indian Institute of Millets Research (IIMR).
  • Recipient: Renjith George, Managing Director of Fresh Start Wellness Cafe and Founder of Y2K Tots Foundation, received the award from Mijanur Rahman, Senior Director R&D, PepsiCo, South Asia Pacific.
  • Recognition: Acknowledges their efforts in combating child malnutrition through millet-based food products, benefiting underprivileged children in government schools, orphanages, anganwadis, and tribal areas.
  • Key Initiatives:
    • Good Food Thrive: Focuses on delivering nutrient-rich millet-based food to underprivileged children.
    • Nourish Their Future: A school-based program promoting healthier eating habits by replacing junk food with millet-based alternatives.
  • Background: Fresh Start Wellness Café, backed by Kochi startup FoodFlavours, launched India’s first box-packed wellness diet food products in 2020. The cafe, with its manufacturing base in Bangalore, has played a key role in addressing malnutrition since 2021.
