Delhi government schools have begun implementing the “Rashtraneeti” curriculum, a comprehensive programme designed to combine academic learning with essential life skills. The initiative focuses on preparing students to navigate real-world challenges by introducing topics that go beyond traditional textbooks.

One of the key areas covered is digital safety, where students learn how to identify and avoid unsafe links, use social media responsibly, and understand the impact of online behaviour. Alongside this, the curriculum promotes awareness about healthy eating, highlighting the importance of nutritious foods, including millets, in daily diets.

The programme is structured around several core themes such as leadership, civic responsibility, environmental awareness, and sustainable living. It also aligns with broader national goals, encouraging students to think about their role in shaping the country’s future. Activities and practical assignments are integrated throughout the academic year to ensure active participation and better understanding.

Unlike conventional teaching methods, this curriculum emphasizes experiential learning. Students engage in discussions, projects, and real-life scenarios, helping them develop critical thinking, decision-making skills, and a sense of responsibility.

Introduced by the education department, the initiative brings together multiple focus areas, including student well-being, inclusivity, cultural awareness, and environmental consciousness. By doing so, it aims to create a more balanced and forward-looking education system.

Overall, the rollout of the Rashtraneeti curriculum reflects a shift towards holistic education—equipping students not only with knowledge but also with the skills and awareness needed to thrive in an increasingly complex world.
