Bhupendra Patel, the Chief Minister of Gujarat, extended his warm greetings to the Sindhi community on the occasion of Cheti Chand. He took part in the celebrations in Ahmedabad and flagged off a procession held in honor of Jhulelal, who is highly respected by the community. During the event, he also encouraged the use of traditional and healthy foods like millets as part of daily diets and festive meals.
While speaking to the gathering, he appreciated the Sindhi community for its valuable contribution to the state’s development. He highlighted that including nutritious grains like millets in everyday food can support better health and connect people to traditional food practices.
He described Cheti Chand as a meaningful festival that represents faith, unity, and new beginnings. He added that festivals are a good opportunity to promote healthy eating habits, including millet-based dishes, which are rich in nutrients and beneficial for overall well-being.
