Millet and Paddy Farmers in UP Receive Payments Within Two Days

The Uttar Pradesh government, under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has quickly transferred over ₹2,100 crore to farmers for the 2025–26 procurement season. Payments include around ₹1,868 crore for paddy and ₹263 crore for millets, all processed within 48 hours of crop sales.

This fast payment initiative ensures that farmers receive their earnings directly and promptly after selling their crops at government procurement centers. The system is designed to provide financial security and reduce delays in payments.

The program benefits both paddy and millet farmers, highlighting the state government’s support for staple as well as alternative cereal crops. By including millets, it also promotes the cultivation of nutritious, climate-resilient grains.

By delivering quick and direct payments, the UP government aims to strengthen farmer confidence, encourage timely crop sales, and improve livelihoods for thousands of growers across the state.
