Selected from more than 1,500 startups across 102 countries, Millets Now has achieved a remarkable global milestone by winning the FAO Startup Innovation Award 2025 at the World Food Forum held in Rome, Italy, on October 15, 2025. The initiative, launched by Agrozee Pvt. Ltd. and incubated under MAGIC (Marathwada Accelerator for Growth and Incubation Council), celebrated its groundbreaking contributions toward nutritional innovation, revival of traditional grains, and sustainable food system development.
Millets Now stood out on the international stage for promoting the nutritional and economic value of India’s traditional grains, such as ragi, barnyard millet, jowar, and bajra. The enterprise is committed to developing nutritious, affordable, and climate-resilient millet-based food products that support both health and sustainability. Beyond product innovation, Millets Now empowers rural women entrepreneurs through training and by integrating them into the agricultural value chain, ensuring community participation and inclusive growth.
Speaking about the achievement, Mahesh Londhe, co-founder of Millets Now, expressed his pride and gratitude, saying, “This award is a recognition of our team’s relentless dedication and the hard work of the rural communities we collaborate with. It motivates us to keep innovating and delivering sustainable nutritional solutions to all. This global honour not only celebrates our mission but also pays tribute the farmers preserving the legacy of millets through their tireless efforts.”
Over the past two years, Millets Now has grown under the incubation and mentorship of MAGIC, which provided continuous guidance, industry linkages, and technical advisory support. This mentorship has been instrumental in strengthening the startup’s innovation, scalability, and global outreach.
The FAO Startup Innovation Award honours young entrepreneurs and startups who utilize technology and creativity to build sustainable, resilient, and inclusive food systems. Winning this prestigious award signifies a crucial step forward for Millets Now in its journey toward creating a healthier, equitable, and millet-based food ecosystem that aligns with global sustainability goals.
Through this recognition, Millets Now not only brings pride to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar but also reinforces India’s growing influence in sustainable agri-innovation and traditional grain revival, showcasing how ancient wisdom can power modern nutrition and global food security.
