Reliance Consumer Products Limited, the FMCG arm of Reliance Industries Limited, has bought Southern Health Foods Private Limited, the company that owns the well-known Manna health food brand. The deal is worth about ₹156 crore. After the acquisition, Southern Health Foods will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Reliance Consumer Products.
Southern Health Foods produces many nutrition-focused products such as millet mixes, multigrain health drinks, breakfast cereals, oats, and baby food. The Manna brand is popular for its healthy food products and has a strong customer base, especially in South India.
With this acquisition, Reliance plans to expand its presence in the healthy and nutritious food market. By adding the Manna brand to its portfolio, the company hopes to grow its range of millet-based and health products and reach more consumers across India.
The deal was handled by leading law firms. Khaitan & Co advised Reliance Consumer Products, while Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co represented the sellers in the transaction.
