The district of Salem has produced 16.22 lakh metric tonnes of food grains in the last five years, according to the Minister.

The Minister said this achievement was possible because of the hard work of farmers and the support given by the government. Different farming programs and schemes helped increase crop production in the district.

Officials explained that better irrigation facilities, quality seeds, and modern farming methods played an important role in improving yields. Support systems such as crop procurement and storage facilities also helped farmers maintain steady production.

The government has assured that it will continue to support farmers and work towards increasing agricultural growth and food security in the region.
