Around 60 women in Goa have started or expanded their food businesses with the help of ₹50,000 grants under the EntrepreNaari program. This initiative supports women by giving them financial help along with training and guidance.
The program is supported by SBI Foundation and SBI Life Insurance, with partner organizations helping to train and mentor the participants. The selected women come from different parts of Goa and include home cooks, small food business owners, and caterers.
The participants received training in areas like branding, digital marketing, customer service, and how to grow their businesses. They also got support from mentors and experts to improve their skills.
With the grant, many women are now working to increase their production, improve the quality of their products, and get necessary licenses such as food safety certification. Their products include traditional Goan foods, baked items, millet-based products, pickles, spices, and catering services.Overall, the program is helping women become financially independent and grow their businesses, while also supporting the local food industry.
