Recently, a delegation from the Hotel Federation of Rajasthan convened with officials from the department to discuss food safety and promote millets.

Present at the meeting were Food Safety Commissioner Iqbal Khan (IAS), Director Pankaj Ojha, Joint Director S.N. Dholpuria, and various officials. Director Pankaj Ojha expressed appreciation to HFR for their efforts in promoting millets.

President Hussain Khan of HFR reassured Director Ojha of their unwavering support, inspired by the Chief Minister, in advancing millet promotion and actively participating in food safety campaigns led by the department.In the near future, HFR plans to host workshops for businesses in the tourism sector, collaborating with food safety authorities. Director Pankaj Ojha has mandated that millet promotion posters issued by HFR be prominently displayed in all department offices.

Food Safety Commissioner Iqbal Khan commended HFR for their proactive involvement in various public interest initiatives and assured continued cooperation from the department. He highlighted the nutritional benefits of millets, which are rich in fiber, protein, magnesium, zinc, and calcium. Millets are also recognized for their potential to aid in reducing blood pressure, regulating blood sugar levels, and managing cholesterol.

Rakesh Chaudhary, President of HFR Udaipur Division, observed, "Millets such as bajra, jowar, barley, maize, amaranth, sanwa, buckwheat, ragi, kangni, kodo, sama, and chickpea are commonly known. Rajasthan is a significant producer of millets, valued for their affordability compared to other grains. With increasing public awareness, millets are gaining traction as a staple in healthy diets, indicating a positive trend for public health.
