Transforming India into a Nutrition Hub with Millet Cultivation: BJP

The BJP has promised to support farmers in transforming India into a global nutrition hub in its Lok Sabha election manifesto.

Additionally, the BJP announced a program called "Sri Anna," aimed at bringing millet cultivation to the forefront. They stated that this program would assist two crore small and marginal farmers who grow millets in the country, enabling them to gain good profits with minimal investment.

Various types of millets are cultivated in India, including foxtail millet, finger millet, barnyard millet, proso millet, kodo millet, and pearl millet. Incorporating these millets into our diet can protect our bodies from numerous diseases and significantly enhance our immunity.

India has demonstrated to the world that millets are a superfood: Narendra Modi

With all these benefits, the BJP has committed in its manifesto to promote the cultivation of millets and establish them as a global superfood. During a visit to Rajasthan, Narendra Modi emphasized the BJP's efforts to promote millets, including providing free seeds to farmers, as announced by the Rajasthan government. The International Year of Millets has already brought global recognition to these grains, and this commitment is now part of the BJP's manifesto.
